This year, EFFA is more focused on impact than ever before.
Through a partnership with Digital Storytellers, and with support from Bank Australia, we recently offered a select group of eight environmental organisations the opportunity to attend a free 2-day workshop on how to make their own digital content with an iPhone.
The workshop gave participants the skills to produce powerful content without the need for expensive equipment or a big budget - and we are so proud to be able to play these eight short films on the big screen at ACMI before our feature films.
Thank you to all the participants who gave up their weekend to learn new skills, which will help promote the fantastic work that their organisations are doing to raise awareness about a range of important environmental issues. A big thank you Bank Australia for making this project possible.
Each short film will be published to this page after it screens at the festival - watch this space.
Participant films will screen with the following features:
Less Meat Less Heat - Carnage
Climates - Let There Be Light
Seedwell - The Swirl
CERES - Wild Plants
AYCC - Connection to Country
Climates - Drokpa
Reground - The Borneo Case
Fair Food Challenge - International Shorts
Less Meat Less Heat - Honey, Rain & Dust
Reground - Dead Donkeys Fear No Hyenas

In recent years we’ve seen that you don’t need complex equipment to make a powerful film. Here are some basic tips to help you make a movie on your iPhone like a pro.
