This session will look at how we can communicate environmental and sustainability issues with video to generate more empathy and create change. We will explore innovative communications strategies and look at what opportunities are available for collaborations between environmental filmmakers and ENGOs.

Full day pass $65 + booking fee. Individual sessions $18 + booking fee.


Eliza Muirhead - Fair Projects

Eliza is an activist, scientist and communications professional using photography and film for animals, the environment and human rights. She is currently the director of Fair Projects, an innovative production company that works with NGOs.

Kelly McKenzie - AYCC

Kelly is the Communications Director at the Australian Youth Climate Coalition, Australia's largest youth run organisation, building a movement to solve the climate crisis before it's too late.

Angela Rutter - Australian Conservation Foundation

Angela is Director of Engagement at ACF, Australia’s national environment organisation, and co-founder of Common Cause Australia. Her love of stories and nature started as a kid, spending many hours with the neighbourhood kids, and dogs, wandering the local creek, playing games and creating stories.

The Reel Impact: Environmental Film Industry Development Day is aimed at connecting environmental film practitioners, communicators, educators, eNGO workers and other interested folk to share information, exchange battle stories, build skills and catalyse the production of more high quality environmental video content.

The event panelists are industry leaders in the film and environmental sectors who will draw upon their extensive knowledge of innovative techniques and industry trends. The day will consist of a series of themed panel discussions, and conclude with a networking event for all ticket holders.
