Join EFFA.

Environmental Film Festival Australia (EFFA) is a volunteer community group, based in Naarm, that prioritises climate and environments through film, providing platforms for artists to showcase their work and spaces for people to connect and exchange ideas and solutions.

We currently have openings for:

  • Screen Programmers

  • EFFA Committee Members

We’re a small team, so you’ll get a chance to get involved in lots of different areas and will have a lot of autonomy. Self-starters and keen beans will particularly thrive.

In return, you’ll receive free tickets to screenings, the opportunity to network with other festivals, a chance to play a big part in EFFA’s development, and gain knowledge and experience in the thriving Naarm Arts scene.

If you’d like to be part of a fun, social community of people who believe in the power of cinema to create change and environmental advocacy, we’d love to hear from you.

To apply, please complete this EOI Form.

Screen Programmers

Are you a film lover with a critical eye? Do you have an interest in environmental issues? Would you like to be part of a values-led organisation that champions art to create change? The Environmental Film Festival Australia (EFFA) team are looking for our newest Screen Programmers to support the curation of a strong environment-focused program.

As a Screen Programmer you play a vital role in EFFA’s curation by viewing and selecting high-quality and dynamic films to support the delivery of an impactful and successful program. While the team is predominantly based in Naarm (Melbourne), Screen Programming can be undertaken remotely.

Screen Programmers are allocated a list of films (including shorts and features) to watch on a fortnightly basis (usually around 5 hours of viewing), and also undertake guided research to identify films that match our programming pillars.

You’ll connect with other programmers at a monthly online meeting to discuss the films and make programming decisions. There’ll also be opportunities to meet in person (dependent on your location) and undertake co-working sessions and co-viewings.

Find out more here. Closing: Midnight 21 May 2024.
